On 10th August, we received a report via our online reporting tool about a rotten fence post at Hardrawkin Pot which would allow livestock into the enclosure of this open pothole if it were to collapse.
Our Projects Officer, Andrew Hinde acknowledged this same-day and made a quick site visit to measure-up. The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust delivered materials to site, and on 1st September, Andrew, with help from Pete Bann, replaced the damaged post and adjacent stile to ensure cavers could still safely visit without damaging the fencing.
A small job, but a great example of our conservation team's rapid response and professionalism.
