Hazards and Warnings
The entrance to Aquamole includes a scaffold bar and metal lid, both of which should be attached to the entrance. Following a near-miss in December 2022 when the scaffold pole became loose and fell onto an ascending caver, we would like to remind all visitors to check that the bar and lid are very secure before descending and present no hazard. The bar is not endorsed by CNCC as a rope belay, but if used as such we urge including a secondary backup belay to reduce the risks if the metal bar moves.
