Birks Fell Cave (Upper Wharfedale)
Entrance crawls are particularly flood-prone and lower sections fill to the roof. Settled weather for a couple of days prior to, and during your trip is needed.
Access
As of 1st April 2022 the CNCC has withdrawn from the historic permit system at Birks Fell Cave. As the cave is on Access Land, and approached via public footpath (typically the path uphill which passes near Redmire Farm leading up onto the Access Land), no permission is required. We encourage cavers to park responsibly in Buckden (National Trust car park recommended), change with appropriate discretion and be courteous to others including the tenants of Redmire Farm if you meet them.
