Hazards and Warnings
The Draughting Hole - Missed Pot system is an extremely complex maze cave. It is very easy to become disorientated, even within minutes of entering, and if this happens you may struggle to find you way out. The through-trip between the two caves (via Scargill Mine adit) is a serious undertaking, physically and navigationally and presents some serious loose block hazards. Anyone interested in visiting these caves must go with a detailed survey and a clear navigational plan. Multiple trips to learn the system may be needed. You are encouraged to contact York Caving Club to discuss potential trips and routes.

Therefore, anyone looking to visit the Draughting Hole/Missed Pot system (or other caves on the same fells) are encouraged to contact York Caving Club, who can notify the gamekeeper ahead of your visit to mitigate any concerns.
