Fallen tree at Gaping Gill
31 January 2022
Yet another tree-casualty of some of this winter's storms, in mid January, it was reported on the UKCaving Forum that a tree above the main shaft of Gaping Gill had fallen and was hanging in a dangerous position over the shaft.
We are really grateful to Adele Ward, Jason Mallinson and Kevin Gannon who turned out within a week to deal with this, and also to John Cordingley for keeping people informed on UKCaving.
Some photos of their excellent efforts here.
