AGM 2018 Results
13 April 2018
Thank you to everyone who came along to the AGM on the 10th March. It was great to see so many clubs and individuals getting involved including several student clubs too (SUSS, YUCPC and ULSA all represented). There were some decisive moves towards greater access, including the latest on the development of the online cave booking system and an agreement for a more progressive attitude to how we present cave access information in light of CRoW.
The AGM was attended by 31 people including 17 voting club representatives. For the first time in many years the 14 committee club positions were contested (15 applicants)! The successful applicants were:
- Burnley Caving Club
- Craven Pothole Club
- Bradford Pothole Club
- Northern Pennine Club
- University of Leeds Speleological Association
- Northern Boggarts
- York University Cave and Pothole Club
- Red Rose Cave and Pothole Club
- Yorkshire Subterranean Society
- Kendal Caving Club
- Earby Pothole Club
- Sheffield University Speleological Society (NEW Committee member)
- Grampian Speleological Group
- White Rose Pothole Club
For the first time in many years, the Officer team remained unchanged:
- Chairman: Andrew Hinde
- Secretary: Matt Ewles
- Treasurer: Pete Bann
- Access: Tim Allen
- Conservation: Kay Easton
- Training: Maz Holloway
The draft minutes are available to download from our meetings page.
The CNCC has many clubs listed as 'full members' who have not actively participated for several years. Many of these clubs have now been contacted to discuss their continued involvement, and to try to coax them to get more involved with us in the future. Separately, it has been a few years now since we received our last application for full membership. There are so many clubs who are extremely active in northern caving, but who take no involvement in the CNCC whatsoever.
Our message is clear: Get in touch and get involved by applying for full membership.
Click here for more information. Non-club cavers are also extremely welcome to come along to any meetings and provide input.
