A one day underground workshop aimed at cavers who would like to learn relevant skills for organising and guiding groups of cavers on non-SRT (horizontal) trips.
A very practical day looking at all aspects of taking responsibility for guiding groups in caves without pitches requiring SRT.
The workshop will include preparing for your trip, packing the necessary equipment and keeping your group safe underground. Ropework skills for aiding cavers ascending and descending short rocky steps will be introduced, and best practice explored. The aim is for attendees to learn about venue decisions to suit the experience levels of both trip leader and group members and how to keep your group safe when exploring non-SRT caves.
Suitable for: Cavers who would like to be involved in running club trips and have had some experience underground. You do not need to have SRT skills, but ropework techniques will be taught.
