A great opportunity to spend the day looking at geological features of the Yorkshire Dales and their influence on cave development, with arguably one of it's most knowledgeable residents.
The day is been hosted by John Cordingley, someone who has dedicated his life trying to understand the world below our feet in the Dales with a speciality in those water filled caves.
Meeting in Clapham, the day will visit Ingleborough show cave via the nature trail (fees included in workshop price) before heading up to Gaping Gill, taking in other geological features along the way.
The CPC winch meet will be in progress and there will be an opportunity to look around the surface workings (unfortunately there won't be time for to descend into the main chamber on the day). After a cup of tea from the CPC tea tent, the day will continue heading back to Clapham via other areas of interest, with a bit of geology thrown in.
