Caving through one of our classic “Pull through” caves we will be looking at all aspects of what is involved in these kind of rewarding trips.
We will look at all aspects from pre trip preparations, safe approach to pitch heads, rigging for pull throughs, problem solving etc..
Trainer: Ian Patrick
Suitable for: SRT competent cavers who want to learn skills for pull through trips
Format: A one day workshop journeying through Simpsons Pot (SUBJECT TO WEATHER - SEE NOTE BELOW) The low ratio of participants will allow time for each person to get plenty of “hands on” experience rigging and pulling down. We will look at generic type skills but also particular features of this classic pull through trip.
Candidate pre requisite: SRT competent with some standard rigging experience and who CAN manage themselves at pitch heads with NO supervision. This is a physically demanding trip so good cave fitness is required. There are sections of exposed traversing and we have to go through “The Duck” where a good wetting will be in order..
Please Note: On completion of a successful booking you will receive a confirmation email from PayPal. (This email from Paypal is your confirmation that you are booked on the workshop and all relevant details are on the links below)
****** IMPORTANT******* If water levels are not suitable, we will head over to Jingling Pot and use that as a venue to look at as many relevant skills as possible.
Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds or transfer of workshops. However if you are unable to attend you are welcome to pass your place onto someone else.
