A two-day, certified outdoor first aid course delivered by cavers, for both outdoor instructors and recreational cavers. Supported by the CNCC and delivered by Rescue and Emergency Care (REC)—one of the UK’s leading first aid providers. 

This practical, hands-on course gives you the skills to manage casualties particularly in outdoor and underground environments. It meets the prerequisites for many National Governing Body awards (Mountain Training, BCA, Paddle UK, DofE, etc.) and provides a 3-year first aid certificate. 

Worried that two days sounds like a slog? Don’t be. This course is active, engaging, and varied, with practical scenarios, discussions, time to observe others, and plenty of tea breaks.

Suitable for: 

• Cavers who want to expand their skill set and learn valuable first aid skills specifically in an outdoor / underground context. 
• Also suitable for outdoor instructors who need to revalidate their first aid certificates. 

Format:

•  A two day practical based course. A mixture of indoor and outdoor learning (no actual caving involved).
• On successful completion of the course you will be awarded a certificate valid for three years and a handbook for future reference.

Candidate pre requisite: No previous experience required.

• No accommodation is included in this course, please make your own arrangements.
• You need to attend both full days in order to gain the certificate.
