Spring-Summer 2026 Training Workshops
We're pleased to launch our workshop catalogue for spring/summer.
As well as our popular new-to-SRT workshops (which support cavers and clubs who don't have access to training), we have rescue and pull through covered. There are opportunities for those already familiar with basic SRT to improve your skills and practice it under supervision to build confidence or restore some rusty knowledge. A few of these sessions are our popular 2:1 intensive format (two trainees, one trainer). We have our popular geology tour with The Rock Doctor (John Helm) and a new workshop format looking at problem solving, very useful for newer trip leaders.
We also have more dates for our new-to-caving ‘Venture Underground’ sessions to provide a taster for caving.
These workshops are subsidised via CNCC by the British Caving Association (BCA), and by our trainers working at a generously discounted rate. If you regularly enjoy any of CNCC's services, from our training workshops to our anchors, topos or descriptions, please consider joining BCA if you are not a member already. Your membership supports northern caving, because most of our work is funded through our BCA subsidy.

- 17 May: SRT underground refresher
- 23 May: Pull through techniques (Simpson Pot)
- 30 May: Venture Underground – New to caving
- 6-7 Jun: New to SRT (two days)
- 20 Jun: Problem solving and assisting cavers
- 4-5 Jul: SRT refresher and improver (two days)
- 18 Jul: SRT underground refresher
- 1-2 Aug: New to SRT (two days)
- 29 Aug: SRT rescue foundations
- 30 Aug: SRT rescue underground 2:1 intensive
- 12-13 Sep: New to SRT (two days)
- 3-Oct: Venture Underground – New to caving
