The CNCC welcomes input from any individual regardless of club affiliation. In fact, we positively encourage input from as wide a section of the caving community as possible.
Therefore, although the democratic structure of CNCC is rooted in clubs (a consequence of our history and current day practicality), we aspire to support and represent the entire northern caving community, clubs and individuals alike.
In 2016 we introduced the role of the Individual Caver Representative (ICR). This is an individual who is elected at the AGM each year by a vote of all attendees, voting as individuals. The role of the ICR is to provide a democratic voice for individuals who cave in our region.
The ICR has a vote both on the Committee and at General Meetings.
If there is something you wish to raise as an individual, you are welcome to do so directly by speaking with any of our team or attending any of our meetings (you will always receive a warm welcome). However, our ICR (icrep@cncc.org.uk) can also raise the matter on your behalf.
Please do let our ICR or Secretary know as much in advance as possible if you have something you would like raising at any of our meetings, so we can ideally put it on the agenda or schedule time for a discussion. However, we always try to accommodate on-the-day items too.
Your individual caver representative

If you are interested in standing for this role, you need to submit notice of your intention to stand to our secretary eight weeks before the AGM, ideally with a supporting statement. You should be able to attend the AGM in-person to introduce yourself and answer questions.
